Principal's welcome

A Message from the Principal

Mrs Vicky Bitzios, School Principal

Welcome to Allenby Gardens Primary School, a vibrant and inclusive learning community where every child is known, valued and supported to achieve their personal best.

Since 1926, our school has proudly provided high-quality education and strong community connections. From Preschool to Year 6, we nurture courageous, compassionate and curious learners who are equipped with the knowledge, skills and confidence to thrive in an ever-changing world.

Our school currently serves approximately 382 students from Reception to Year 6 and 64 preschool children. We are proud of our diverse and welcoming community, where families from a wide range of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds come together to contribute to a rich learning environment.

We have high expectations of both our students and staff, fostering a culture of excellence, growth and continuous improvement. Through evidence-informed teaching and high-impact learning experiences, we develop effective learners who are curious, reflective, resilient and empowered to take increasing responsibility for their learning. Students are encouraged to think critically and creatively, collaborate with others, solve problems and contribute positively to their community.

Our students enjoy a rich and engaging curriculum featuring specialist programs in Science, Greek, Physical Education and The Arts, a modern STEM learning environment, an outstanding Kitchen Garden program, strong leadership opportunities, enterprise learning and a wide range of sporting and co-curricular experiences. A key feature of learning at Allenby Gardens is our Learning Expeditions, where all classes engage in authentic inquiry-based learning that connects students with real-world experiences and inspires them to explore meaningful questions, deepen their understanding and apply their learning in purposeful ways.

We value student voice and strong partnerships with families. We are proud to create an environment where every child feels valued, develops a strong sense of belonging and is empowered to reach their full potential.

I invite you to explore our website or arrange a school tour to discover what makes Allenby Gardens Primary School such a special place to learn, grow and succeed. Contact us at dl.0473.info@schools.sa.edu.au to arrange a tour or discuss any questions you may have.
